SUMMER CAMP2024

ICFW has continued to improve the physical health and wellbeing of kids and youths during the summer period by organizing physical, emotional and intellectual leisure activities. These activities have enabled these kids to escaped juvenile delinquencies and waywardness. The kids developed self-confidence, built friendships and their minds are refreshed and set for deserving performances come this academic year. 

JOB PLACEMENTS-SUMMER JOBS

In removing barriers and easing employment of inexperienced youths, International Center for Family Welfare through Canada Summer Jobs 2024 has provided job placement opportunities for 5 youths. The youths were involved in meaningful activities that have positively shaped their career choices.

Senior - Youth Experience Sharing

On December 23, 2023, International Center for Family Welfare (ICFW), organized a social event dubbed “Senior – youth experience sharing Christmas party”. The party brought together seniors and other generations to socialize and chart ways for their plights. The party enable seniors to share their life’s stories with other generations, prepared older adults for the challenges ahead of them as they age, empowered youths with knowledge and skills to transit from adolescent to adulthood while escaping from juvenile delinquency and waywardness. The party also healed seniors from trauma and rendered them stress-free as they actively socialized with other generations.  The project is funded by the Ministry of Seniors and Accessibility under Seniors Community Grant Program. 

Combatting Seniors Financial Abuse

SCG Project

International Center for Family Welfare (ICFW) is currently empowering seniors with digital and financial skills to enable seniors age in comfort and dignity. We are equally organizing intergenerational mentoring and experience sharing sessions with seniors and youths. This project is funded by the Ministry of Seniors and Accessibility through Seniors Community Grant Program (SCG Program) 2023-24. This initiative is building inclusive and sustainable communities. Seniors' Emancipation & Autonomy

In 2022, International Center for Family Welfare (ICFW) initiated a project captioned “Seniors’ Connect in COVID-19 and Post COVID-19 era”. The project intervened as seniors were one of the vulnerable age groups highly affected by the shocks of COVID-19 and its shutdown effects. This project received attention and was funded by the Government of Canada through the Employment and Social Development Canada under the New Horizons for Seniors Program.

The project empowered seniors in the following areas;

  • Digital literacy and financial skills 
  • Provided psycho-social support and first aid.
  • Enhanced their capacities in financial management.
  • Trained seniors on healthy meal preparation
  • Engaged seniors into recreational, social and cultural activities.
  • Engaged seniors into voluntary services.
